Am I restricted on design – must it be a box?
Answer: No, you can build to any of your designs or yours. You are only limited by your imagination.
Council approval – do you do it or do I have to?
Answer: If we are suppling and erecting, we get all approvals for you.
Cost compared to timber?
Answer: The costs are comparable to timber.
Are white ants a problem?
Answer: All steel frames and roof trusses are totally impervious to termite attack. They can’t eat steel.
How strong are steel frame houses in severe weather?
Answer: All are engineered to required cyclone rating, depending on where you live.
What about external finishes?
Answer: You can have whatever you like – brick, block, fibro sheeting, or any other exterior finish that goes on timber framed homes.
Can I have a two story steel frame houses?
Answer: Yes, you can go as high as you like, once again, only limited by your imagination.
Can I have my new home on stumps?
Answer: Yes – available on slab on ground, low set or high set – the choice is yours.
What about interior finish?
Answer: Any finish that goes on timber can be used on the inside of a steel framed house.
Can I put ducted air-conditioning through the ceiling?
Answer: Yes - there is space to have ceiling air-conditioning ducted as well as insulated.
How do I run my pipes and power cables through the steel frame?
Answer: The frames are all pre-slotted to allow for all utilities to be concealed within the walls.
